Daily Life: Christmas 2014

I can’t believe how quickly 2014 has come and has nearly gone.

The Christmas lights are up! It’s always so cheerful going around and looking at all the inventive Christmas lights in the street. I remember once heading to a street famous for it’s Christmas lights in Merrylands/Greystanes. There was an enormous traffic jam, and vending vans in the form of icecream trucks and gozleme sellers. This was before the new breed of food trucks. If I went out now, I’m sure that that’s what I would find.

My sister took a tour down Franklin Road, Ponsonby in Auckland New Zealand, and here are some of her Christmas light photos.

Less conventional with corrugated Christmas trees and an elephant:

It’s good to see corrugated iron being put to use in decorative items other than sheds. Elephant!

Penguins diving off the roof:

Where on earth does one even *find* lights in the shape of a penguin?

What are your favourite Christmas light decorations?
