This is Libby:
She’s the daughter of a friend, and she has been in the intensive care unit of one of Sydney’s hospitals for nearly a month. She’s had to be shocked back to a “normal” heart rhythm several times.
For a little girl who loves the outdoors, can you imagine what it would be like to be stuck indoors on a ventilator and feeding tube?
The term for what she has is dilated cardiomyopathy, and the survival rate has been estimated at 30%.
I visited at the two week mark to offer some moral support, children’s books and banana bread.
What can you do? I felt so helpless.
We are asking a lot of this little person.
All we can do as friends is pray for her and her family
